Microprocessor and Microcontroller

ENSTSA

About This Course

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of microprocessor architecture and operation. Learners will explore the internal organization of a microprocessor, including the ALU, registers, control unit, buses, and memory interface. The course also explains the instruction execution cycle and how instructions are fetched, decoded, and executed. Using the 8085 microprocessor as a case study, learners will analyze its architecture, registers, instruction execution, and basic timing concepts. Through visual explanations, worked examples, exercises, and interactive assessments, the course provides a solid foundation for understanding how microprocessors execute programs and prepares learners for further study of assembly language and embedded systems.

Basic knowledge of digital electronics, number systems (binary, decimal, and hexadecimal), computer fundamentals, and elementary programming concepts is recommended. No prior experience with microprocessor architecture or assembly language is required.
