Section 1: Introduction to Linux
This section introduces Linux, its history, main characteristics, and common distributions. Learners will understand the role of an operating system and discover the advantages of using Linux in academic and professional environments.
Section 2: Linux Installation and System Architecture
Learners will explore the basic architecture of Linux and its principal components. This section also presents the main installation steps and explains how to select an appropriate Linux distribution.
Section 3: Linux File System
This section explains the organization of the Linux file system and the purpose of its main directories. Learners will practise navigating between directories and identifying absolute and relative paths.
Section 4: Essential Linux Commands
Learners will use the command-line interface to perform common operations. They will practise commands for displaying information, navigating the system, and creating, copying, moving, renaming, and deleting files and directories.
Section 5: Users, Groups, and Permissions
This section introduces user and group management in Linux. Learners will understand file ownership and learn how to view and modify access permissions to protect system resources.
Section 6: Process and System Management
Learners will discover how to display, monitor, and terminate running processes. They will also use basic commands to examine system resources and obtain information about the Linux environment.
Section 7: Practical Activities and Assessment
The final section includes practical exercises, quizzes, and guided activities. These tasks allow learners to apply the acquired knowledge and evaluate their ability to work independently within a Linux environment.
